KEEP LOOKING. I'm done dealing with those clowns. Finally, I sent them a draft of the Amazon review I would publish if they didn't send me a replacement, and they finally agreed to send me a RECONDITIONED replacement unit. Too much money for too little durability and a complete absence of customer support. My SECOND Roku unit failed 14 months after the first one. When the first one failed, I went 15 rounds with their "Customer Service" reps who disowned the problem. These units are a great idea, but a very BAD reality.
It can be repaired but not by ROKU.It's unfortunate that ROKU abandoned this product because it is really a nice radio.I suggest looking at Logitech Squeezebox Radio as an alternative. For example, KFI in Los Angeles.3. Certain feeds cannot be played and with no support will probably never work. The BIGGEST problem with this radio is the LACK of/no support from ROKU. There are 3 real BIG problems with this radio.1. It's pretty much an orphan product.2. The power supply WILL go out eventually.
Roku customer service can not be had, might as well throw it away. It makes me wonder why Amazon would even sell this item when it will not be supported. I've had the Soundbridge R1000 for two years and enjoyed it very much until it completely died like many others. This has been the worst customer service experience I have ever had.
Best to avoid this product and this company. Since my radio was out of warranty, Roku wouldn't help. Summary: You are much better off buying a Logitech Squeezebox.I loved my Roku at first but then the power supply went out. I searched online and found that this was a known issue impacting tons of people. I wouldn't be that upset if it was a one off thing but apparently this is a known issue that has users talking about a class action lawsuit.
This time I can't get any response from the Roku customer service, even though I'm still within the waranty period.I think that Roku has written this product off - you should do the same. I owned one of these. It is dead simple to setup. I gave Roku a second chance and bought a $199 replacement. I've owned two of them.
That one died as well. It really is a model for how a wifi appliance should be done - there is no software to install or service to sign up for, everything is configured via a web browser, and it streams music directly from the media server built into Windows.BUT. I loved a lot of things about it. This product is really frustrating. The sound quality is good.
The power supply failed after the warranty period.
